It’s the end of the year and it’s time to start talking about goals right? Wrong! Now is the time to DO something about goals. If you are at all like me, talking about things (like goals) doesn’t accomplish much. When it comes to goals, it is too easy to:
- Talk about them but never take action.
- Set them and forget them.
- Set wrong ones and miss them.
In order to set goals AND achieve them you need right perspective, serious motivation, and all-star tools. Let me explain.
Right perspective
Often when setting goals, we don’t see ourselves clearly enough. Typically this produces bad goals. Did you even know you could set bad goals? Bad goals are any goals that do not support your giftings and/or your long term strategy. They can also be goals that are too far out of reach or are near impossible (if not impossible) to measure. Having the right perspective will enable you to see what needs to be seen and set what needs to be set, leading to success.
Serious motivation
Everyone (ok, almost everyone) starts out something new with serious (ok, somewhat serious) motivation. That’s why gyms fill up and planning meetings are full of energy at the beginning of the year. But as time goes on and often unrealistic goals are being chased (see above), the motivation is lost. Motivation can only be managed by self for periods of time (for some people this is shorter than others). You need serious motivation if you hope to succeed.
All-star tools
You need to have the best in order to be the best. But many, if not most, of the tools necessary for sales and business success are not instantly acquired. These tools must be developed over time. Think about working out for a second. Someone with a 150 pound bench press cannot outright buy a 300 pound bench press. You can buy equipment, trainers, and memberships, but not the press itself. It has to be worked at.
If you put all of the above together, you will be on your way to success like you have never seen. It’s going to take more than a little planning. You need to do what you’ve never done.
I have decided to take that last sentence to heart. I am going to be somebody’s right perspective, serious motivation, and all-star tool provider in a way I never done before. I am going to let one person name their terms. Here are the details:
- You share your current company, position/role, and 2014 YTD earnings.
- You share why you feel you would benefit from the right perspective, serious motivation, and all-star tools in your sales efforts.
- You name your monthly financial commitment (anything goes but remember, investments dictate returns).
- You agree to stick with me for one year.
I will share in more detail if you are chosen. For now, it’s up to you. The first person to respond gets first crack at this. It’s not automatic as we may not be the right fit for each other but I suggest you make quick of this. There are no strings attached. No bait and switch. Just something I have wanted to do for awhile and God has put me in a position to do it.
